I am an eclectic therapist. I use different types of approaches depending on the type of problem. Cognitive Behavioral therapy I believe that Cognitive Behavioral therapy provides the briefest time in counseling. This type of counseling relies on identifying mistaken beliefs and replacing them with the truth. Knowing the truth can change the feelings, which in turn affects behavior. Relationship Counseling Some people come into counseling needing help with improving their relationship skills. This involves replacing old habit patterns with more effective ones. Such skills as knowing how to say No and when to say Yes can help you stay in control of your life. This can apply to marriages that need repair, couples looking for a more satisfying relationship, or individuals needing to build bridges towards or separate from others. Career Changes When your present job isnt fun anymore, or you have been laid off, and you want more out of life, perhaps its time to see about changing careers. I can help you understand your gifts and talents, find a better fit, and encourage you in the, often difficult, job of pursuing a new position. Parenting I can pass on many years of experience and learning to help parents navigate the, sometimes stressful, years of getting children from the cradle to a career. Recovery Some issues require a more in depth approach. When some habits or behaviors originated in childhood it often takes a patient, caring therapist to go on a healing journey with the clients. I have traveled many roads, helping people recover from painful pasts.
